Good Agricultural Practices - Labor

GAP applied to tobacco supply chain labor fundamentally means fair and safe labor practices and no child labor. We expect our growers to adhere to these practices and to document them for their operations. Tobacco farmers do not operate in a vacuum.  In today’s world, what happens on the farm is not just the farmer’s  business, for those practices are of legitimate interest to the entire supply chain, consumers, watch groups, and society in general.

BSC is strictly opposed to the use of child labor in tobacco production. See our “Farm Labor Policy” in the Standards of Responsibility section of this website for details.
